32057 #13 Road
Oliver, BC
The largest winery in the Fraser Valley, it changed owners in 2005 when founders Claude and Inge Violet sold it to Hong Kong businessman Anthony Cheng and his partner, Vancouver lawyer Eugene Kwan. The cool-climate vineyard at the winery grows whites appropriate to the valley, including bacchus, madeleine angevine and madeleine sylvaner.
The winery has established such a following for bacchus, a German white variety, that it increased its planting in 2009. In the late 1990s, Domaine de Chaberton sponsored orchardists on the Okanagan’s sun-soaked Black Sage Road to convert to grapes, securing a source for prize-winning shiraz, Bordeaux reds and chardonnay.
