Ontarian Bill Eggert moved to the Okanagan in 1983 when he failed to convince a Niagara Peninsula relative to replace labrusca with vinifera. After working as a vineyard manager, in 1993, Eggert planted only red varieties on a choice property overlooking the challenging Fairview Golf Course.
The winery makes primarily estate-grown reds. Eggert made his first white, a sauvignon blanc with purchased grapes, in 2005, and has since planted a third of an acre. In 2008, he purchased enough pinot noir to make two barrels, a prelude to planting 1.3 hectares of pinot noir in 2009 on newly acquired land just south of Vaseux Lake.
