2302 Skimikin Road
Long-time dairy farmers in the Tappen Valley, Gary and Heather Kennedy began planting grapes in 2003 on this property, which they have farmed since 1959.
The objective has been to keep the farm in the family; son, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Mayka, have a passion for making wine, which they have juggled with careers with an oilfield service company in Africa and Russia, while Gary and Heather look after the tasting room.
To turn this Shuswap-area winery into a destination, the Kennedy family has developed hiking trails on the farm, connected to an extensive network of regional hiking and horse riding trails. The estate vineyard grows primarily Germanic white varieties, while syrah and Bordeaux red varieties are sourced in the Okanagan.
