The Punjab-born Gidda brothers, whose father brought his family to Canada in 1958, were among the Okanagan’s largest independent grape growers when they decided to open a winery. With vineyards at Westbank, Okanagan Falls and in the Similkameen Valley, the brothers continue to sell to other producers while directing a growing tonnage through their own winery.
The vineyards give their winemakers an enviable choice of terroirs and varieties, including syrah, petit verdot, malbec, cabernet sauvignon, viognier, zweigelt and one of the rare plantings of zinfandel in British Columbia. Mt. Boucherie also produces wine for other labels.
