NK’ MIP Cellars

1400 Rancher Creek Road
Osoyoos, BC

Nk’Mip Cellars was North America’s first aboriginal-owned winery, in a joint venture with Vincor. The winery, overlooking vines and the lake at the eastern edge of Osoyoos, recalls the sandstone pueblos of New Mexico in its architecture.

Grapes come from the winery’s own vineyard and from nearby Inkameep Vineyards, which was established in 1968 and was one of the south Okanagan’s earliest vinifera vineyards. Nk’Mip winemaker Randy Picton has access to personally selected blocks of premium vines.

The winery now anchors the Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa, including accommodation, a golf course, a desert interpretation centre and a restaurant. In 2009, the winery extended its consumer reach by establishing a wine club. The offerings include both new releases and library wines.
