Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and Cellar Door Bistro

17403 Highway 97N
Summerland, BC

The oldest estate winery in the Okanagan, Sumac Ridge has been a leader in Okanagan wine industry innovations. Its pioneering sparkling wine trials led to its Steller’s Jay Brut; named for British Columbia’s official bird, the first vintage was 1987.

Sumac Ridge now is the Okanagan’s largest producer of traditionally fermented sparkling wine. In 1995, Sumac Ridge was the first Canadian winery to produce a meritage.

The winery’s red Pinnacle, first released in the 1997 vintage at $50, for many years was the top-priced Okanagan table wine. In 2006, the Pinnacle family expanded to include both a white table wine and a sparkling wine. Sumac Ridge has one of the Okanagan’s largest wine portfolios, hovering close to 30 products. Its Private Reserve Gewürztraminer is the perennial top-selling VQA gewürztraminer in B.C.
