The 2009 vintage at Therapy Vineyards was done by a new winemaker in a new winery, built next door to the cramped facility that had served Red Rooster, the winery originally located on this vineyard. The group of investors that bought the property in 2004 (when Red Rooster moved to its current location) set production and sales goals requiring the new facility.
The target is 15,000 cases a year. The new winery sparkles with stainless steel and has a capacity of 500 barrels. Winemaker Steven Latchford, who was born in Ontario’s Prince Edward County in 1982, trained at Niagara College and did six vintages at the Jackson-Triggs winery there before moving to the Okanagan in 2008. He has taken over the cellar from Australian-born winemaker Marcus Ansems.
